Zondagmorgen 10 augustus, zijn we naar een Kroatische gemeente geweest hier in Osijek. Vorig jaar waren we ook hier. Het is vreemd om een dienst bij te wonen die je niet verstaat. Gelukkig vertaalde een van onze vrienden de hele dienst voor ons.
To sing together the songs what we know in Dutch or in English is wonderful. It gives a strange deep connection, the reality of Gods world wide church is visible while we sing. Judith told me that she sang the whole song just in Dutch. I am sure that we missed quite a bit of this sermon, but what we got was this:
Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing to you these instructions so that, if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in Gods household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great:
He appeared in a body,
was vindicated by the Spirit,
was seen by angels,
was preached among the nations,
was believed on in the world,
was taken up in glory. (1 Timothy 3: 14-16)
